My Story

When I was little my parents wire wrapped. My dad was the first of us to wire wrap gemstones, He then taught my mother who eventually taught me about the craft. Our very first wrapped gemstones were sold at a store called Psyschic Thyme in Rochester NY. Psyschic Thyme was where I first started learning about working in a retail store, for 15 years this is where our friends were who we considered family were at. My mother and I then decided we would go around to vender shows and fairs in Livingston and Monroe county to sell our pieces.

Through our travels we discovered a store called Mythic Treasures in a plaza called village gate, also in Rochester NY. This store became our second home where our family grew through community connections. Some dark days came when my father and mother passed away in between 2018-2019. My mothers friend Belinda who was more of an aunt than a family friend helped me see the light through the darkest days. It wasn't easy, But being at mythic treasures my home away from home, Sue and Tim gave me a place to express myself at Mythic Treasures. I then met some really supportive family Alex, Mythic treasures then ended up moving to east main street, Rochester, Then along the way came Rauncie, Over the years we have become really close. Alex, My best friend, Spent many days laughing in the store with staff at conversations that were not always appropriate for the store(Sue and Tim would tells us not to around customers).

Belinda and Rauncie would teach me about the metaphysical world that I grew up around but when I was younger hardly acknowledged. During this time Sue and Tim began letting me sell my jewelry in the store and offer it as a service to costumers who wanted custom work done. I also started to learn more from them about the business side of retail work where I started to gain more responsibility through the store. While working at east main street location I met Austin, My partner. He eventually started working at the store with me after visiting my work often. Together we helped relocate the store to Henrietta, NY. Both of us got more responsibility and helped set up the new location. I then was able to get my own section in a jewelry case to sell my work.

After working in the store for a total of ten years I decided to open my own business and sell my work online with the help of my technically inclined partner, Without him this would not be possible. After two years of working at the Henrietta location my partner and I decided to grow our family and be closer to his side of the family and decided to leave Mythic Treasures. Our goal is to eventually open our own brick and mortar store and continue to pass down the knowledge of wire wrapping gemstone to the future generation.

My hope is that some of these unique Gemstones find a way to their forever home to be cherished even more.
